how to build a truss roof

Our task this week was to install a trussed roof in the work shop, we worked in two seprate teams and completed the task in two days. First as a class we learnt all bout the manufacturing and installation of trusses and completed the ' erect timber roof trusses ' then we started on our project. the steps used were:
created the shape of the structure using set measurment.
placed the wall plates around the edge of the structure makeing sure they were all level to do this we used leveling techniques we had learnt in previous blocks at tafe.
then we installed the two end trusses plumbed them and braced them.
after the two end trusses were braced we ran a string line from apex to apex to get our ridge line and installed all our other standard trusses that we could using triple grips to secure the trusses to the wall plates.

once all the standard trusses were in place we installed the two girder trusses that would form the two hipped roofs. afetr the girder trusses were in place we put in the remaining standard trusses ataching them to the girder truss using girder brackets.

once we had the girder trusses in place we fixed the hip and jack trusses. we used triple grips too fix all our trusses to the wallplate.

the next step was two install all our creeper trusses and saddle trusses which made our valleys.
once the fascia was on we braced ouyr roof using speed bracing and the plans that wer given to the team.
the last step in the whole procedure was to battern the roof out and put in the valley boards for me this was the easiest part of the task as i have done this lots out on site.
